Periodic Services:  General Information
GEMHS serves many people in Sandhills, Cumberland County catchments area through our Periodic Services Department. The local management entity (LME) has endorsed us to participate in the Community Support Services and Residential Placement.

Community Support Services: Community Support Services (CSS) are psycho-educational and supportive in nature and are intended to meet the mental health, developmental disability, and environmental, medical, or biological factors, are at risk of developing or increasing the magnitude of such functional deficits. Providers typically work directly with consumers, parents, or other caregivers in a natural occurring serving (home, school, etc) on functional problems that occur in that setting. Services would include education and training of caregivers and others who have a role in addressing the needs identified in the serve plan as well as preventive, developmental, and therapeutic interventions designed to direct consumer activities, assist with skill enhancement or acquisition, and support ongoing treatment and functional gains.
